More than 21 million Americans suffer from alcohol or drug abuse. Every year some of those people lose their lives. According to the Centers for Disease Control, drug overdose deaths in the U.S rose last year to about 93,000 in 2020, an increase of 29.4 percent from 2019. San Rafael Facility Honored For Second Straight Year Due To Quality Of Care Reputation
SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Aug. 24, 2021 Bayside Marin Treatment Center was named among the top five facilities in California in Newsweeks recent ranking of the best addiction treatment centers in the state.

According to the Centers for Disease Control’s National Center for Health Statistics, there were an estimated 106,622 drug overdose deaths in the U.S. last year, an increase of about 15 percent over 2020. Among the 20 states analyzed, the top 10% of inpatient/residential and long-term addiction treatment centers were included. The highest-ranked facility in the review was Hazelden Betty Ford Foundations center in Center City, Minn., with a score of 97.1%. The care providers facilities in Plymouth and St. Paul were the states next-highest-ranked on the list.
Newsweeks Best Treatment Centers List Is Out Were Up Way Up
Every year Newsweek publishes its list of the best addiction treatment centers in the country, state by state. Its an honor even to make the list, which we did last year, placing 40th out of the eighty facilities listed. This year, weve climbed all the way to 24th.
To say the least, were proud. We are a small , family run treatment center. All day, every day, we put all our hearts into what we do. We created a very specific, trauma-oriented program, with clinicians that are all Master level or higher. We believe in creating a positive environment for our residents, where they can not only get the best treatment but find some peace. Thats one reason everyone gets his/her own room and bathroom.
Unlike many of the facilities on the list, were not a luxury treatment center in the manner of what youll find up and down the coast. We offer a very clean, contemporary, comfortable facility in a resort area. Plenty of sunshine and things to do on our excursions. We have two executive chefs preparing every nutritious meal.
More encouraging than making Newsweeks list is the response we get from the people who come to us for care. We enjoy seeing them rebuild their lives and attain the kind of success that has been beyond their reach before. Thats the real reward. As anyone who works in this field knows.
