Micro-managing and favoritism run rampant, and a lot of the therapeutic practices you are asked to support are controversial, to say the least. Frequently we were asked to take patients mattresses and make them sleep on the floor if they missed their medication or were late for appointments. Patients are frequently banned from speaking for days at a time and staff are expected to enforce this. As for the management on the residential team, frequent overtime is something that is expected of staff, while not something that is explained or outlined in any of the interview process. Many residential assistants are hired to work day-time or evening hours and are then told they have to now work the overnight shift.
