Dear Lord Jesus, our heart is breaking with grief because our precious child has gone down the route of addiction. They have left home and are now living rough in the streets and seem to have become an entirely different personality. Lord, we have not seen them now for many months and we are filled with great sadness. But we are trusting You Lord to work a miracle. Look down Lord Jesus in pity on our dear child, convict them of their wrongdoing and restore a right mind within them. Protect them Lord, from the dangers that surround them and bring them home Lord we pray. Lord, there is nothing that we can do but to trust You, and we do trust You Lord to turn our child right round and return them home. Into Your hands we commit this great sadness and pray that the return of our precious prodigal will take place very soon, and we will give You all the praise and glory, Amen.
Drug Addiction Recovery Prayer
Blessed is the man who died on the cross for the sins of everyone. As I chose to turn away from drugs and alcohol, hear my prayers for addiction, Lord. Keep my spirit clean for my own sake and my family. Allow me to show love from the works of your Holy Spirit. A Prayer For Those Suffering From Addiction
To find healing and overcome requires faith in someone more powerful than the addiction, and dependence on something stronger than personal abilities. The only power stronger than the call of addiction is Jesus. He breaks down strongholds and ministers with compassion and love. He does not condemn or persecute. God sent Jesus to bind up the brokenhearted and heal their wounds . When it feels like we have no strength to carry on, we can trust in His power to keep going. Jesus will not leave us alone to face the battle.
Does addiction trap you? Do you want help, but not sure where to start? Help is not far away. One of the first steps can be prayer. Cry out to God. He hears and waits for you to reach out to Him. His desire is for you to know you are loved and wanted, and that healing is possible. Are you ready to lay down your burden? There are no perfect words to pray, but here is a prayer to get started.
God, my Father, help me to turn my eyes toward you. Where does my help come from? My help comes from You, who made all things . You alone possess the power to break the chains of my addiction and break down the bars of this prison. Release me from the bondage of drugs and alcohol. Return me to my family and friends. Restore what has been stolen. I do not possess the strength, but through Jesus, I can do anything . Give me the strength to say no and turn my eyes heavenward.

Today, Father, I bless your name. Thank you for predestining us to be adopted as your sons through Jesus Christ. I deliver drug addicts and alcoholics to your door. God Will Not Leave Us In Our Trying Times
Psalm 49 verse 8 says that For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth forever. God has a precious plan for salvation. The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe . As a father, God will never let us fail. So He will always be there when the time is right God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Thus always believe in God, pay attention to Him even when things get tough.
Finally, we must start living the way God wants us to live, thats when our life begin to turn around. Finally, God brought us into this world to do great things, you have so much potential. Apostle Paul wrote And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness , we must learn how to key into this great grace, which available to us in God our Father.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalms 46:1.

How We Used To Pray
Often, people in recovery recall praying when they were addicted to drugs or alcohol. The prayers usually sounded something like please let this work outplease let my dealer answerplease let me get high just one last timeplease let me score this. Alcohol and drug addiction will hijack your brain, and really make all of your thoughts and behaviors revolve around using drugs or alcohol above all else. Our prayers were once pleas for the next fix, and as we enter a drug rehab program, our substance use disorder can finally take a seat we now begin praying with true meaning, for true meaning. Our daily prayers will transform the way we think and feel no longer obsessed with drug abuse, we are able to pray with gratitude for the opportunity to change our lives.
Universal Messages In Prayers Relating To Addiction
There are some common themes that emerge throughout in prayers and mantras relating to addiction. These prayers often relate to seeking the truth, demonstrating how muddled our perceptions become when we are using. They ask us to remain honest and acknowledge the addiction not to control or manage it. They showcase the courage it takes for someone to face the fear, damage inflicted by, and the severity of cravings and withdrawal symptoms relating to addiction. Most, as with the Serenity Prayer, they identify a notion that the addicted individual fell into addiction because they were suffering from some underlying struggle. And nearly all highlight awareness of a higher power, whether it be God, or finding serenity in nature seeking out something pure on a path out of darkness and shadow. One particular bible verse found within Corinthians, quite simply acknowledges the free will to choose to use, while including a most helpful mantra in contrast, I will not be mastered by anything. Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.

I re-posted this prayer to my Facebook page a few days ago. I originally posted it last year. It has had an amazing response with over 600,000 views in just a few days. I wanted to post it here to my blog for anyone who is not on Facebook, and could use encouragement in this area. Blessings to you all!
Dear Lord, we come to you and we pray for all those who are struggling tonight. We ask in the name of Jesus, that you be with each person who is struggling with addictionwhether it be alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, foodsometimes its more than one at a time.
Lord, you are our deliverer. We can do anything through Christ who strengthens usbut, we must take the first step. We must realize we have a problem and a need and we must ask for help. I ask Lord, that you will give each person the courage to face up to their problems and to have a strong desire to change.
We ask for healing in families torn apart by addiction. We ask for protection for those family members that are in harms way because of their loved ones addictions. Lord, everyone suffers in a family where there is addiction. Please pour out your grace, mercy and healing power on each person who has been affected by someone with an addiction.
