Opioid + Opiate Addiction Treatment In Bettendorf Ia

Opioid addiction is a common form of addiction, often caused by prescription drugs that are abused. Addiction is treated by detoxifying the body and following up with therapies to correct behavior and target the root of the problem.

Most opioid addiction begins with patients being prescribed painkillers after an injury or surgery. The body becomes used to the chemicals in these medications and soon no longer responds to their presence. As a result, addicts seek out stronger opiate-based medications like Oxycodone to compensate for the lack of effectiveness.

The most dangerous aspect is that these addictive behaviors often get carried over onto illicit drugs like heroin, which are increasingly potent and result in lower life expectancies.

Our Patients Say It Best

At the age of 40, I found myself divorced and addicted. With the help of doctors, nurses and staff at CATC, I got my life back.

Client from Ontario

Ive been dealing with Aylmer St. Pharmacy for a few years. Very excellent people and help from all the workers. Very friendly workers. Thanks for caring for me and all the customers.

Client from Peterborough, ON

I am writing about my experience with Park Ave pharmacy. I recommend the pharmacy and give it 5 stars. I have dealt with lots of other pharmacies and have never felt comfortable. Whenever I had questions I felt like I was an inconvenience, but with this pharmacy, Ive had all excellent experiences with all the staff. Jessica and Shawna have gone above and beyond to help me find answers and have always returned calls and emails quickly. Ive had many health issues or concerns about methadone and I always got excellent help and advice. The staff treats their customers as if they are family and not once have I had a bad experience or felt uncomfortable speaking to anyone there. I dont just get my methadone, but all of my prescriptions here.

When family members are more proactive and involved in the treatment procedure, it encourages the patient to advance his or her progress. Moreover, it shouldnât be ignored that genetics play a role when it comes to addiction, so itâs better to approach the problem as a unit. Abbey Overlooks History Of Downtown Bettendorf

Joe Lemon is the founder of The Abbey Addiction Treatment Center in Bettendorf.

Louis Brems Rev. Richard Pokora

For the past 100 years, the Abbey has set quietly, but majestically, atop the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, the Iowa-Illinois Memorial Bridge and downtown Bettendorf.

The Abbey served as a monastery for the Sisters of Mount Carmel for 80 years, but today the historic buildings serves as an addiction treatment center affiliated with UnityPoint Health. The Lemon family purchased the property in 1991 and originally transformed the facility into a luxurious, 19-room hotel, earning a Four Diamond Award from AAA in the process.

The ever-shifting conditions of the Quad-City hotel and motel market, however, prompted the Lemons to rethink the Abbeys mission. In 2007, they decided to reconstitute the monastery as a premier addiction treatment center. Karen Relf now serves as program director, with Joseph Lemon Jr., managing the property for his family.

This facility has made it its mission to give American families a permanent solution to the risk and trauma that alcohol and drugs bring to so many peoples lives. As they put it, they dont just focus on getting you sober, by which they mean recovery is not limited to abstinence alone.

To them, successful treatment is wholistic: the mental health, the body the nutrition gets, and even ones relationship with their parents play an integral part in giving quality treatment for the patient.

With this in mind, The Abbey has come up with their Positive Sobriety initiative through the various programs that help improve the patients overall health, resulting in no risk of developing any relapse symptoms.

The Lemon family comes from Rock Island, where Joseph Lemon Sr. grew up. His son, Joe Lemon Jr., splits time between Rock Island and a home in California. Joe Jr. received an undergraduate degree from Brown University, a masters from Magdalen College, Oxford, and a law degree from Stanford University. He previously worked at a venture capital law firm and the Sausalito Shipyard and Marina. His education and work experience have served him well, as he developed the monastery into a treatment center.

To obtain zoning changes and licensing for the facility, the Lemons needed to demonstrate the program would be a quiet neighbor, offering high quality and effective services. They were motivated to undertake this project by the belief that to whom much is given, much is expected. They wanted to give back to the community in a meaningful way.

The Lemons worked assiduously to build trust with city government, their neighbors and health care partners. They intended to return the property to its initial use where individuals redirect their lives in a positive and transformative process. As much as possible, they have maintained the architecture and caring mission brought to Bettendorf by the Carmelite Sisters.

Often members of the order who died were buried in a crypt beneath the altar in the chapel. When the sisters left the building, moving to another location in 1975, the bodies of deceased sisters were exhumed and buried elsewhere.
