The Serenity Prayer is one of the most well-known and dearly loved prayers. While remarkably simple, it has impacted countless lives, supplying them with Gods strength and courage in their battle to overcome life-controlling addictions.
This prayer has also been called the 12-Step Prayer, the Alcoholics Anonymous Prayer, or the Recovery Prayer.

Prayers For Healing Of Addiction
Dear Ones,
We have received many healing prayer requests to help heal addictions. I am so grateful to all of you in the Ananda Healing Prayer Circle for your dedication in praying for those in need.
I offer this article as a sample of the writing I am doing for an upcoming book on healing and prayer. It may offer insights to you as you prayer for those who have this difficulty. Id love to hear your insights into these prayers, as well, in the comments area.

In attempting to fit in and overcome the instability of his life, his drinking consumed him until at age 20 . . . it escalated to an abusive level. Finally, it cost him his marriage and job, and eventually, it sent him to jail and prison.
One day, it nearly led him to end his own life.
But a daughters silent plea for help was about to change all that.
Finally, he was sent to a recovery program but left, still bound by his addiction. It only got worse until his daughter found Wayside Cross Ministries online.
The idea of going to another recovery shelter didnt sit well with him. But late one night, the Lord awoke Chriss heart, and he knew he had to go to Wayside!
For Those Addicted To Alcohol
Dear Lord Jesus, all forms of addiction ruins so many lives, and addiction to alcohol can cause such devastation in the lives of individuals and their relationships with the family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues.Dear Lord, I lift up to You all those that have become addicted to alcohol, which Satan so often uses as a tool to damage and destroy the lives of so many people. Lord, I pray for all who have been afflicted with this terrible disease. May they be released from the ruinous way that it affects so many, and be set free of this addiction.Lord, I know that there is no freedom except in You. I pray that in Your mercy, You would meet each of Your children at their point of need. In the power of the Spirit living within, I pray that they may break free of this destructive addiction.And Lord for those that are not believers, I ask that in Your grace, You would convict them of their damaging behaviour, both in their own bodies and in the lives of those that they know and love. Turn them away from alcohol addiction to a right relationship with the Lord Jesus, in Whose name I pray,Amen.

Prayer For Alcoholic Husband
Oh Lord Jesus, how difficult life has become due to my husbands excessive drinking of alcohol, well it is now really become alcohol addiction. Life has become so hard, almost unbearable, and his temper is at times out of control, and Lord, I am beginning to fear for our safety. Lord, You know that this is splitting our family apart and at times I despair that this addiction to alcohol will ever be overcome. Lord, it has not only affected his moods and his increasingly uncaring attitude toward me, but it is affecting his work and I am wondering if he may actually lose his job as a result of this. Father, it is painful to see someone You love in this pitiful state and I pray for Your guidance and strength to be able to deal with this in a way that honours You, but also for the wisdom to know what to do and how to help my husband. Lord, I know that Your grace is sufficient for me and ask that You would remain close to me, to lead and to guide, so that I would know what to do to help him overcome his alcohol addition and encourage him to turn to Jesus, in Whose name I pray, Amen.

Dear God, there are so many young people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. They believe that addiction is the road that fate has chosen for them. But, Lord, that is not the case since you have wonderful plans for them. The enemy has given them lies in order to keep them addicted to narcotics and alcohol. Please assist them in understanding their worth and seeing themselves as you do. Remove all the lies about their identity that the enemy has implanted in their minds. Restore to them the assurance of Your unfailing mercy remove from them the fears that beset them strengthen them in the work of their recovery and to those who care for them, give patient understanding and persevering love. Prayers & Affirmations For An Addict Or Alcoholic
Its challenging when a loved one is struggling with the disease of addiction. You find out in a quick minute that essentially youre powerless to change or fix them. You can, however, learn how to best support your loved one and take care of yourself too. I find prayer helps. I find having faith in God to act helps, because my talks dont seem to get through.
Take time to sit quietly and pray for your loved ones. Affirm them. Visualize them free from the grip of addiction. See God/Jesus/Angels surrounding him or her. Cover them in prayer regularly.
Here are some prayers and affirmations Ive written you can use as a guide, but certainly pray as you are led. Theres no right or wrong when it comes to prayer. Say what you feel and what you want.

Many youths are dependent on drugs and alcohol, my God. They believe that their path to addiction is the right one. You have big plans for them, Lord! They have been fed lies by the enemy to keep them in prison for drugs and alcohol. Help them to understand the value of their lives and to see themselves as you do. All the lies the enemy has planted in their minds about their identity must be removed. Let them follow the right path, and help them become free. I pray in Jesus holy name. Amen.

Samhsas Current And Future Support For Harm Reduction
SAMHSA has awarded 25 grants for the first-ever SAMHSA Harm Reduction grant program. This funding, authorized by the American Rescue Plan, will help increase access to a range of community harm reduction services and support harm reduction service providers as they work to help prevent overdose deaths and reduce health risks often associated with drug use. SAMHSA accepted applications from State, local, Tribal, and territorial governments, Tribal organizations, non-profit community-based organizations, and primary and behavioral health organizations.
SAMHSA will distribute $10 million between 2022-2025. Grant recipients receiving federal funding must adhere to applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and other requirements as specified in federal grant terms and conditions of award. Other SAMHSA grants may also support harm reduction activities . The following harm reduction services/supplies are allowable costs that may be covered with certain SAMHSA funds:
*The Harm Reduction grant program is authorized under Section 2706 of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which is not subject to the same syringe funding restrictions as other federal grants. Syringes to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases are allowed for purchase with grant funds authorized by ARPA for SAMHSA Harm Reduction programs.
