Hypnotherapy For Eating Disorders To Overcome Unhealthy Food Habits
Your unhealthy food habits do not need to define you. Whether you stress eat or turn to food for comfort, you are using food as a coping mechanism. This can lead to negative repercussions for your physical and emotional health, including overeating, weight gain, and a negative self-image. Willpower alone is not enough to overcome unhealthy food habits because they are deeply embedded in your subconscious mind. To transform your relationship with food, you need hypnosis to stop eating. Hypnotherapy for eating disorders can tap directly into your subconscious where these habits reside.

Your subconscious contains vast amounts of information, much like a database for your mind. It gives your brain a framework from which to operate and saves you time and energy when making decisions. That is why when you sit down to do homework, you unthinkingly reach for a snack. When you walk into a dark hallway, you switch on the light. Your subconscious mind takes over the job of thinking to streamline your life. When it comes to unhealthy food habits, these automatic habits might actually be making your life harder.

Limitations Of Hypnosis As Self
Although hypnosis has been reported as a successful approach to promote weight loss in addition to lifestyle and/or psychological interventions, the overall number of related studies was low, and most trials were very old, i.e., published in the 1980s . Furthermore, the methodological quality was limited most studies had an observational design, a low number of enrolled patients, short duration of the intervention, and only a few reported follow-up data. Patient recruitment might be a challenge in hypnosis-based interventions, the individual hypnotizability is still a highly debated question , and the available papers reported an increased female participation, with high rates of drop-out or discontinuation of the intervention . Due to the small sample sizes, some studies might lack the statistical power to detect differences between the interventions , and divergent effect size values were reported in meta-analyses . Therefore, at present, the evidence toward the efficacy of hypnosis as a strategy for losing weight is scarce.

Overcoming Food Addiction With Hypnosis For Weight Loss
Food addiction is something that so many dieters fail to conquer. With hypnosis for weight loss you can take back your power and take control of what you eat, how much you eat and ultimately your weight. You can be in control of you when you learn how to hypnotize with self-hypnosis. Becoming Slender For Life and its hypnosis CD set support you in overcoming addiction to food.
Sometimes we use food to stimulate the deepest parts of the brain when what we really need is friendship and love. And if the part of the brain that keeps us interacting with otherstalking, flirting, dating, or just being togethercan be satisfied with a bowl of chocolate ice cream instead, we can find ourselves becoming more and more alone.
If foods can work on the very parts of our brain that are designed for warmth, friendship, and love, no wonder loneliness leads to overeating, drinking, or drug use. And once addictions start, they develop a life of their own.
Does this sound like you? You can use hypnosis for weight loss for overcoming food addiction and easily learn how to hypnotize yourself with the Light Switch self-hypnosis technique. With self-hypnosis you end the addictive patterns and take control of you. For additional support, be sure that you have my book, Becoming Slender For Life and its hypnosis CD set.

How Do You Break The Habit Of Overeating
There isnt a one-size-fits-all approach to overeating. But, because overeating has a mental component for most people, almost everyone can benefit from hypnosis for overeating. Hypnosis makes an excellent complement to cognitive behavioral therapy and other types of behavioral therapy to help you explore your reasons for overindulging.
When youre trying to stop overeating, its also important to avoid over-restricting your food. Making certain foods completely off-limits or severely limiting your calorie intake is likely to result in binge eating down the road. Be gentle with yourself and allow yourself to consciously eat for pleasure within the context of a healthy diet.
When youre eating, practice mindfulness. Instead of reading or watching television, focus on the foods youre eating. This can feel uncomfortable at first, so a good trick is to focus on the feeling of the food. How does it taste? Whats its texture? Feel yourself chew and notice the muscles at work. Then direct your attention to everything that had to happen for the food youre eating to arrive on your plate. Not only does this help you avoid zoning out and overeating, but its also an excellent gratitude practice.
If you determine that your overeating habit is partially or completely a result of stress or other overwhelming emotions, you may also want to incorporate meditation and breathwork into your daily routine. Of course, this will benefit your overall well-being, not just your eating habits.

What Causes A Food Addiction
While there is no known cause of food addiction, there are many factors that should be considered. Some studies suggest addiction is genetic, although environmental and emotional factors are also thought to increase the risk. For some people, an addiction is a way of coping with difficult issues. This may include stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and unemployment. Hypnotherapy aims to identify the triggers and work with the client to overcome the issue using the power of suggestion. Together, the sufferer and hypnotherapist can begin to rebuild their self-esteem and improve well-being. Some feel that their family environment has caused them to look at food differently as not enough, eat everything on your plate, obsessed with certain foods, believe they need to feel full not comfortable the list is endless of thoughts and ideas that has our brain thinking consistently.
Hypnotherapy is a mind power that helps you think more positively and gets your mind back on track so you can see the results as it happens.

Why Use Hypnosis To Stop Addiction To Food
Guided hypnosis accesses the unconscious mind. This is where all of underlying are issues that lead to the addiction are stored.
Addiction changes the brain. And while it seems hopeless and its tough to break free, its possible. For the longest time, scientists believed that only alcohol and powerful drugs can cause addiction.
But recent studies show that certain pleasurable activities such as gambling, shopping, or gaming can have the same effect on the brain.
Addictions can present itself in different forms, but they basically work the same.
For example the brain registers pleasure the same way. Whether its a nice meal, a new purchase, or a drug. When we experience pleasure the brain releases the neurotransmitter called dopamine. Which is the feel good chemical. It can feel like a buzz or its often confused with comfort, as in the case of eating food.
Dopamine release is consistently tied in with pleasure. Addictions release dopamine in the brain powerfully, consistently, reliably, and quickly.
Though there is a feel good fox, its short lived which leaves us feeling low. We beat ourselves up, feeling riddled with guilt and then searching for our next fix. Its a never ending cycle.
This is how addiction is start and continue until you put a stop to it!
This faster and more powerful dopamine release will more likely lead to an addiction.
Effects Of Food Addiction
If a food addiction is left untreated it can have a big impact on both your physical and mental health. Continuing to eat large quantities of foods high in sugar and salt can lead to physical complications such as heart disease, digestive problems, sleep disorders, headaches, increased risk of stroke and general lethargy.
Psychologically, this kind of relationship with food can affect your self-esteem leading to conditions such as depression and anxiety. You may go on to develop disordered eating and even struggle with suicidal thoughts.

There are many causes of food addictions. It could be genetic, although researchers believe that environmental and emotional aspects may play the largest part.

Food addiction is treatable. But it is difficult to recover without professional help. Unlike alcohol or drugs, you cannot totally abstain from food. Learning new ways to deal with your emotions and healthy eating habits can help put you on the road to success.

William Doan’s Art Tackling Mental Health
Its about getting happy with looking like you. Dissatisfaction kicked in at some point for you and its become a permanent state.
Brutal, but probably true.
And this is where we move on to the hypnosis part of my session.
Rayner-Jones passes me a foot-rest and a blanket to put over my lap. I put on some headphones, and close my eyes.
A soundtrack of calming music plays that both reminded me of being in a spa and of a sci-fi film. Over the top of that, Rayner-Jones speaks to me.
Shed told me that some people go into a deep trance, others just a light one. To be honest I dont think I went into a trance at all. I felt weird and very conscious the whole time.
I definitely felt relaxed and a little woozy, but I was always aware – of the sound of the cars outside, of how I was sitting, of whether I should be perfectly still or move a bit. I wanted to open my eyes but I didnt.
The hypnosis started with Rayner-Jones instructing me to make every part of my body – starting from the top and working down – feel heavy and relaxed. I was then told to imagine being somewhere relaxing, like I was floating, before a situation was created that saw me finding a stone inscripted with the word confidence.
Rayner-Jones then went on to talk about how Id soon find I just didnt want to overeat because it was almost too much effort.
