Whats In A Glow Stick

10 Surprising Uses For Hydrogen Peroxide YOU NEED TO KNOW

For something a little more fun, the glow stick gets its signature glow from a chemical reaction. They are made with two containers, an outer flexible plastic case and a fragile glass case inside. The chemicals in the outer case are a base catalyst and a suitable dye; when the container is bent, the inner glass container breaks, mixing its chemical in with the others, causing the glow. The inner glass container is filled with hydrogen peroxide!

Glow sticks are frequently used for fun at parties, concerts, and outdoor events at night. However, they are also used for search and rescue operations, as emergency light during power outages, and are especially useful underwater.

How Does Living Near A Meth Lab Or Meth Users Impact Children

Meth labs are extremely dangerous environments for children. The chemicals used to make meth are highly toxic and easily explosive.

The drugs and chemicals used in meth can be harmful to children’s health. Children living in meth labs often accidentally ingest meth through the secondhand smoke and fumes that are released during the cooking process. Meth and the chemicals used to make it contaminate a home’s living area and water supplies long after meth has been produced. This puts children at risk over the long term.

Children living with meth users are also exposed to abuse, neglect and highly unstable environments that endanger their lives. Between 2000 and 2005, meth lab seizures by local and federal law enforcement affected more than 15,000 children. Nearly 4,000 children were exposed to toxic chemicals, 96 children suffered lab-related injuries and eight children died.

WORTHINGTON — Lye, anti-freeze, rubbing alcohol, muriatic acid, hydrogen peroxide, iodine, drain cleaner containing sulfuric acid, ammonium nitrate and lithium batteries.

While these don’t sound like chemicals anyone would want to ingest, when mixed with cold tablets containing pseudoephedrine — along with a few other ingredients — meth addicts can cook up the drug in the comfort of their own home.

Mixing chemicals and cooking meth, however, come with a wide array of dangers, and the health impact caused by ingesting the drug can be astounding.

Among the most-used images of meth’s impact on a body is a California woman’s metamorphosis spanning 10 years, from her photo in November 1979 to her January 1989 mugshot. But lately, a new crop of photos is starting to make the rounds — images aptly referred to as “Meth Mouth.”

A Worthington dentist is all too familiar with the look of meth mouth, although the patients she works on never admit their teeth are decayed and deteriorating as a result of the drug’s use.

“Drug use causes loss of tooth structure differently, depending on the type of drug involved and the habits associated with drug use,” said Dr. Maureen Sorensen, who provides dental care to inmates at Prairie Justice Center in Worthington. “Snorting methamphetamine can cause the front upper teeth to be heavily worn and decayed.”

“The cavity takes over the tooth and leaves a stub,” she said. “They might all be infected, but only one will hurt.”

Redlan said:I really don’t think it is good for soil grows… I have seen people kill their plants off in a quick hurry putting minescule amount of h2o2 into their water for soil grows,… For hydroponics it makes sense… But in soil, roots create their own oxygen… And the bacteria the h2o2 KILLS by being in the soil also promotes oxygen creation… For soil it is my personal opinion that it is a terrible idea, and you will just end up killing your microbes…. For hydro 100% use it… Sparingly

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has issued a warning about a concerning new social media trend in which people are breathing in hydrogen peroxide through nebulizers to treat or prevent COVID-19.

In a Tuesday blog post, the AAFA said that the âdangerous trendâ was circulating on Facebook, Twitter and TikTok.

âOnly use asthma medicine prescribed by your doctor in your nebulizer,â the AAFA noted. âOther chemicals can be harmful to your lungs.â

% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide for Plants, Top 10 Uses.

I have been reading a lot about 35% food grade Hydrogen Peroxide being taken internally. After reading the proper protocol my concern is keeping to the “empty stomach” schedule. Either 1 hour before or 3 hours after you eat. We could manage the 1st dose in the morning on an empty stomach, but the 2nd and 3rd throughout the day would be tough on an “empty stomach” for we eat several small healthy meals and snacks per day.

After going to a local healthfood store yesterday I found out they were sold out of the 35% food grade HP. They said they can’t keep it in. But they showed me a 12% food grade and said many were using it.

On the back of the bottle, it showed how to properly take it but it said nothing about being on an empty stomach. In fact, it said to drink the 32oz daily mixed dosage of distilled water with 1/4 tsp HP and to drink 4 oz every hour. In doing this, there is no way to be on an empty stomach. You can also take 8 oz four times a day, drinking the full 32oz per day).

So my question is, is it not as much of an issue of being on an empty stomach if it’s the 12% food grade vs. the 35%? The 12% would be more “doable for us but I want to make sure it’s not as much of an issue if you’re not on an empty stomach.

And……… do you feel you can still reap the health benefits of oxygenizing your body with the 12% as the 35% food grade, it would just lake longer due to it being not as potent?

Thank you for any help you can give us.

Get Rid Of Bacteria On Your Feet

Use hydrogen peroxide to clean off the bacteria on your feet that can cause foot odor. An even mix of water and hydrogen peroxide can be used as a spray or in a bowl to soak your feet. Be sure to rinse your feet off, and dont let them soak too long. Hydrogen peroxide on healthy skin cells should be avoided but is a quick way to eliminate strong foot odor. Also, a quick spray of the mixture into your shoes may help as well, though be careful of the potential for discoloration of the interior fabric.

Some aquarium hobbyists use hydrogen peroxide to control algae and clean their tanks, but talk to a fish veterinarian before putting hydrogen peroxide in your tank. If you get it in your eyes, it could cause burning or abrasion of your cornea.

You may be surprised to find out that hydrogen peroxide uses extend beyond scrape and wound care. The peroxide can also be used for cleaning, promoting teeth health and maybe even reducing the burden of stroke, according to recent research.

How Methamphetamine Is Made

Methamphetamine is highly dangerous but relatively easy to produce. It is manufactured with easy-to-obtain over-the-counter drugs and other readily available chemicals. These chemicals may include flammable household products such as kerosine, paint thinner, rubbing alcohol and lighter fluid. Corrosive chemicals such as battery acid, drain cleaner, ammonia, fertilizers and phosphorus from matches are also used.

There are two main ways that methamphetamine is made, an anhydrous ammonia method and a red phosphorus method. A new method known as the Shake and Bake method is also increasingly being used. All methods use 3 basic steps extraction of precursor drug , reduction of ephedrine/pseudoephedrine to meth, and extraction to a solid.

The anhydrous ammonia method uses sodium, potassium, lithium batteries, muratic acid, sulfuric acid, naphtha, starter fluid hydrogen chloride gas and other chemicals in the processing. The red phosphorus method uses the following chemicals in the manufacturing: iodine, red phosphorus , hydroiodic acid, muratic acid , sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, charcoal lighter fluid, acetone and chloroform.
