Welcome to the Addiction Medicine and Recovery Services . We are a team of providers who are committed to providing comprehensive individual as well as group-based services for all mental health as well as addiction medicine concerns for our members, including their families, through high quality, outcome-based treatment. We are trained to evaluate the role that drugs, and alcohol are playing in our members lives so that we may provide a safe, confidential, and caring environment to promote healing. Our services are available to Adolescent and Adult members.

The AMRS has a designated medical team here to support your healing. Our team has specialized training in addiction treatment and a lot of experience caring for patients with addictive disorders. We can help you with withdrawal symptoms and managing your cravings. In addition, we can offer maintenance treatment for opioid use disorder, including medications such as Suboxone and Methadone.

Smartphone apps
There are a multitude of apps available today for those suffering from mental health issues, said Bettie Reinhardt, who spent 13 years as executive director of the San Diego chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the countrys largest grassroots mental health organization.
For instance, she said, apps can allow people with bipolar disorders to record the bodys pulse and blood pressure, and some apps even alert patients if and when they are beginning to get manic or slip into depression.
She said such apps can be coupled with a therapists care.

Our addiction medicine care teams can help members with severe SUD stop drinking or using drugs safely and comfortably. This doesnt treat SUD, but its an important first step toward recovery for the members who need it.
Counseling can help members with SUD explore the reasons behind their drug or alcohol use and come up with new, healthy coping strategies. It can be especially effective for members who also have a mental health condition, or who started using to deal with distressing emotions, trauma, or excessive stress. We offer individual and group therapy for all our members.
In some cases, our care teams prescribe medication to treat an underlying mental health condition, like depression or anxiety. In other cases, medication is used to help reduce cravings, ease withdrawal symptoms, and help prevent relapse. This is sometimes referred to as medication-assisted treatment , and is mostly used to treat addiction to opioids, heroin, prescription pain relievers, and alcohol. Medication is typically used in combination with other treatment approaches, like therapy and self-care.
