To Recap What These Areas Are:

  • A temporary escape
  • A challenge
  • Social

So lets bounce some ideas around. What activities did I start doing to fill those voids allowing me to not need video games for that fix?

I started to work on my social skills. This worked out really well. But only because I took it very, very seriously. If I wasnt out meeting new people, I was at home studying

This is something Ive noticed with a few different students of mine. A lot of them like to play video games. This is no surprise. There are some that have been successful in kicking that desire and others that have not.

The ones that have been successful are the ones that have actually gotten serious about improving their lives and since Im going to assume that most people reading this have a full-time job they only have so much time in their day for a few things.

Social Dynamics obviously offers all 4 of those areas which is why taking it seriously works to get over your video game addiction. But it only works if you take it seriously. If you half-ass it, you wont get the same results.

Social Dynamics is essentially a proactive approach to living the life you want. Whats your dream?

And thats the exact reason why the students Ive had that werent able to get over their addiction werent able to do it! They didnt take this new endeavor seriously enough to fill those voids. So they would find themselves bored at home a lot, and when you are bored at home video games are an easy solution to that problem.

Companies Going Public Is The Beginning Of The End

Being a corporate shill myself and seeing how games have devolved to. I believe that companies going public in the stock market is the beginning of their end.

It could happen right away, in a few weeks or years, but eventually they’ll focus on the bottom line over everything.

I don’t have the time or energy but I’m wondering if someone has a study of when game companies went public or got acquired by public companies and how their products have changed.

I mean look at the games that comes out these days. Absolute greed-fest of crap. The same mechanics are recycled forever and they just throw more superficial improvements to keep you distracted from the lack of substance.

These realizations are making it easier to quit tbh. So I’m grateful for that at least.

  • Video game is habit-forming, you must consciously decide to end the practice. Know that playing video games is not an addiction until you let it take over your life so much so that you become dysfunctional. If you are unable to complete daily routine activities, then it’s time to sit down and make conscious choices.

Identifying the negative impacts of the addiction will help you focus on positive improvements and getting back the things that you are really missing.Advertisement
  • 3Avoid blame. Blaming others for problems that you alone must face does not solve the problems. The ‘gaming industry’ or manufacturers are not the cause of this problem, and blaming them does not make the problem better. The vast, extreme majority of ‘gamers’ are healthy individuals, accepting responsibility is the first step. Also, do not make excuses, take responsibility.
